The Best Local X Public Visibility Score measures whether a public business homepage can be reached, understood, and reused by search and AI systems. It does not measure service quality. One instrument is used across every business in a campaign so the ranking can be reproduced instead of adjusted until it looks right.
The Four Readings
- Search Visibility, 30 percent Can a search engine reach the page, index it, and work out what it should appear for?
- AI Discoverability, 30 percent Can an answer engine retrieve the page and lift a useful answer from it?
- Technical Accessibility, 20 percent Can a machine fetch the page cleanly, quickly, and on the first attempt?
- Content and Entity Strength, 20 percent Does the page say what the business is, who publishes it, and why its claims can be attributed?
Why One Instrument
Instant Read Visibility supplies the standard measurement. AI Symantix asks a narrower semantic question about whether AI can understand, retrieve, and trust a page. QuickRankAI diagnoses what can be repaired and where. Those are useful tools, but they do not answer the same question. Averaging all three would create a larger number, not a more honest one.
- Instant Read Visibility measurement registry The live signal inventory used by the scoring instrument.
- AI Symantix The deeper semantic and AI retrievability layer.
- QuickRankAI The repair-oriented public-page inspection layer.
Candidate Selection
Each campaign states its city, category, candidate count, measurement date, and selection rule. Candidate pools come from current public discovery and prior Best Local X research. They are research samples, not claims that every business in a market was found. The full candidate dataset is published beside the Top 10, including businesses outside the ranking.
Ties, Failed Fetches, and Human Review
- Ties are resolved by Search Visibility, then AI Discoverability, then Content and Entity Strength.
- A page that cannot be fetched is marked unavailable. It is not assigned a zero.
- Human review records obvious contradictions, contamination, or limits in the automated result.
- Human review does not secretly add or subtract points from the published score.
- A corrected website receives a new dated measurement. The original snapshot remains available.
What the Score Does Not Claim
The score does not measure workmanship, customer satisfaction, legal compliance, licensing, insurance, safety, price, actual search position, map pack position, traffic, leads, revenue, or whether a business is the right choice for a buyer. Those questions need different evidence.
Payment and Corrections
A business cannot pay for a higher score or ranking. Sponsorship and featured visibility are labeled and kept separate. A business may request correction of a factual error or ask for a new measurement after changing its public website. A correction request does not guarantee a different result.
